How DuelTube handles account and test data
Last updated August 21, 2026
Account information
DuelTube uses Google identity to sign you in. We store your Google account identifier, verified email, display name, and profile image reference so the same person returns to the same DuelTube account.
YouTube connection
Connecting YouTube is optional for reviewing and separate from sign-in. With your permission, DuelTube reads your channel identity and recent public uploads. The requested access is read-only. DuelTube does not upload, edit, delete, or manage your videos.
Tokens
Provider access and refresh credentials are stored on the server in encrypted form. They are not stored in browser storage or exposed in page HTML. Disconnecting YouTube removes those credentials and cached channel history. The last public channel name and avatar may remain on the account so already-launched tests keep a consistent card identity. Tests and results are preserved.
Tests and reviews
We store uploaded thumbnails, test configuration, feed-round snapshots, visibility qualification, selections, credit transactions, and operational events needed to run and audit the experiment. Review records are tied to your DuelTube account and do not include a personalized YouTube Home feed.
Public YouTube content
Review feeds may display public video packaging as system-owned controls. A public channel appearing in a feed does not imply that its creator uses or endorses DuelTube.
